Savour the exquisite flavours of our recipe of Lamb cutlets with hoisin sauce and tender confit shallots. A culinary delight that elevates your dining experience.
Ingredients:
For the Hoisin Lamb:
4 boneless lamb chops or 1 lb (450g) lamb leg steaks
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey
Salt and black pepper to taste
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Sliced green onions (for garnish)
For the Confit Shallots:
8-10 shallots, peeled and left whole
1 cup olive oil
2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Confit Shallots:
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
In an ovenproof dish, combine the peeled shallots, olive oil, fresh thyme sprigs, salt, and black pepper.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
Slow-cook the shallots for about 2 hours or until they become soft and tender. Check occasionally to ensure they're not browning.
Once done, remove the shallots from the oil and set them aside.
Step 2: Marinate the Lamb:
In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, honey, salt, and black pepper.
Place the lamb chops or lamb leg steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the lamb is evenly coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or longer for more flavor.
Step 3: Grill the Lamb:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Remove the lamb from the marinade and grill for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer if you prefer your lamb more well-done.
While grilling, you can brush the lamb with some of the remaining marinade to enhance the flavor.
Step 4: Assemble and Serve:
To serve, place the grilled hoisin lamb on a serving platter.
Arrange the confit shallots around the lamb.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Serve your Hoisin Lamb with Confit Shallots immediately.
